Program Overview

A resit is a different job from a first attempt. You have already seen most of the content, and the marks you missed usually cluster in a handful of topics and a few habits: rushing, not showing working, misreading what a question asks. This course starts with a diagnostic paper, maps exactly where the marks went, and spends the teaching time there.

GCSE Maths is a linear qualification. AQA's specification, for example, has three papers of 1 hour 30 minutes and 80 marks each, the first without a calculator, and two tiers: Foundation, graded 1 to 5, and Higher, graded 4 to 9. All three papers are taken at the same tier in the same series. AQA offers November entries only to students who were at least 16 on the previous 31 August, which is why the November series is the resit series.

For 16 to 18 year olds on a study programme, the government's condition of funding guidance sets out who must keep studying maths: students without a grade 4 continue, and full-time students with a grade 3 must study towards GCSE. We work alongside your college, or with you directly as an adult entering through an exam centre. Classes are live and small, and every paper you sit with us is marked against the published mark scheme so you can see the trend, not just hope for it.

What Makes This Program Different

  • ✓ Starts with a diagnostic paper and a topic-by-topic map of lost marks, so the teaching time goes where the marks are
  • ✓ Built around the boards' own specifications: AQA 8300, Edexcel 1MA1 and OCR J560, all three papers at your tier
  • ✓ Non-calculator paper habits rebuilt from the first fortnight
  • ✓ A November plan for learners close to the grade they need and a summer plan for those who need more time
  • ✓ Evening and weekend classes for adults and learners at college during the day
  • ✓ Every practice paper marked against the published mark scheme, with an error clinic afterwards

Straight answers about GCSE Maths Resit Course Online: Post-16 and Adults

Who should take this course?
Learners aged 16 and over, and adults, resitting GCSE Maths with AQA, Edexcel or OCR. It suits 16 to 18 year olds at college or sixth form who need to keep working towards gcse maths; adults who need gcse maths for a job, training course or university application; learners who missed the grade they needed by a few marks and want a focused plan for november.
What will they learn and build?
A resit is a different job from a first attempt. You have already seen most of the content, and the marks you missed usually cluster in a handful of topics and a few habits: rushing, not showing working, misreading what a question asks. This course starts with a diagnostic paper, maps exactly where the marks went, and spends the teaching time there.
How deeply are topics covered?
The course runs 6 months (24 weeks) for a summer entry; a shorter plan for the November series at 2 live classes/week + 3 hours of practice, fitted around college or work, across 4 phases listed week by week in the syllabus below. A structured plan built from your board's specification and your own diagnostic.
Who teaches it?
Modern Age Coders mentors, who teach the live classes themselves. You can watch them at work in the free class recordings before you decide.
How do practice, feedback and assessment work?
A diagnostic paper, monthly checks and full paper sets marked against published mark schemes. Doubt support between classes over WhatsApp. A course-completion certificate and a personal resit kit you keep.
What does it cost?
Three monthly plans: a group batch, a mini batch and 1-on-1. Prices are shown in your currency in the plans section. Monthly billing, cancel any time.
When can classes take place?
Live classes are scheduled around your week. Group batches meet at a fixed weekly slot; 1-on-1 students choose their own. International students are scheduled in their own timezone. Ask on WhatsApp for the current slots.
Can I watch the teaching before deciding?
Yes. Full recordings of real 13 and up classes are free to watch, free with a Google sign-in. These recordings show how we teach, not the exact syllabus of this course. Some classes are in English and some in Hindi; everyone follows at their own pace. Watch a class end to end, like you are in it. Sessions are interactive and each moment builds on the last.
Can I enroll without a live demo?
Yes. Choose a plan on this page and enrol directly; a demo is not required. If you would like to see a full class with a mentor first, book a Priority Demo.
How do I reach you with a question?
WhatsApp +91 91233 66161, email connect@modernagecoders.com, or call +91 91233 66161. Tell us the student's age and what they have learned so far, and we will point you to the right plan and batch.
