The dry-run line and the approval line are not decoration. They are the difference between an assistant and a hazard, and they are the first thing the course teaches.

The answer is more than most parents expect and less than most videos imply, and the difference is the ladder below.

Agent tools carry the strictest age terms in AI: several serious platforms are adults only, and business tools vary by country. The ladder respects that instead of hiding it.

Two things about this ladder deserve a parent's attention. First, the middle rung is where the real education happens: an assistant that drafts but does not send, that proposes but does not commit, teaches goal decomposition, permission design and approval flows, which are exactly the abilities the industry currently struggles to hire. Second, the top rung being closed until 18 costs a teenager nothing: a 17 year old who has spent two years on rungs one and two steps into the adult tools with judgement their peers will spend their first job acquiring.

The four rails run through every rung, and they are worth stating plainly because they are the actual syllabus. Dry-run first: an agent shows what it would do before it may do it. Least access: an agent gets the narrowest key that works, never a whole account's powers. Human approval: anything irreversible waits for a person. Full logs: everything the agent did is written where the student, the teacher and the parent can read it. A teenager who builds inside those rails for a year has internalised more deployment discipline than most of the adult market.

Why one to one

The format is the safety feature

Everything else we teach runs beautifully in batches of five to eight, and we say so on every other page of this series. Agents are the exception, and the reason is mechanical rather than commercial: an agent acts, the actions touch real accounts and real data, and eight students' agents cannot all be watched at the moment each one matters. A teacher supervising one student sees the permission about to be granted, the dry-run about to be skipped, the key about to be pasted somewhere it should not be, while it is still a lesson rather than an incident.

One to one also changes what gets built. Group courses converge on the same safe demonstration project; a private track grows the agent out of the student's actual life, their club, their revision, their team, their family logistics, which is where the motivation lives and where the approval-flow design gets real, because the actions have real consequences the student personally cares about. The fee is the one-to-one rate, USD 150 a month, and this page will not pretend a group version exists, because it does not and should not.

What is the difference between a chatbot and an agent, in plain terms?

A chatbot answers you; an agent does things for you. Ask a chatbot to plan your revision week and you get a plan as text. Give the same goal to an agent and it can read your exam dates, draft the timetable into your actual calendar, and flag the clash it found, taking real actions in real systems along the way. The action-taking is the power and the entire reason agents need more care, more rails and more supervision than chat.

Is my teenager old enough to build agents?

For learning the concepts and building supervised, rule-based automations, yes from the early teens. For the professional agent platforms, the honest answer is that age floors bite harder here than anywhere else in AI: several serious agent and coding-agent tools require adulthood, and business platforms carry their own account terms by country. Our teen track is built around what a teenager may genuinely hold and touch, arranged with parents, and we name what remains out of reach until 18 instead of pretending.

Why is the agents track one to one only?

Because an agent acts, and actions need individual supervision. In a group class, eight students' automations touching eight different accounts cannot all be watched properly at once, and this is one place we refuse to teach at a supervision level we cannot honour. One to one, the teacher sees every action the agent is about to take, every permission it is granted, and every mistake before it compounds. That is also why this track costs the one-to-one fee rather than the group fee.

What does a teenager actually build in this track?

Things that act on their own world, with rails. Recent builds include an assistant that watches a shared family calendar and messages the student a packing list the night before sports fixtures, a study bot that quizzes from the student's own notes and logs weak topics, and a club-admin helper that drafts reminder messages for a teacher to approve and send. Notice the pattern: real usefulness, and a human approval step wherever the action leaves the student's own accounts.

Is it safe to let an AI agent take actions?

Only inside rails, which is precisely what the course teaches as its core content rather than as a disclaimer. The rails are concrete: agents run in dry-run mode first, showing what they would do before doing it; they get the narrowest possible access, never a main account's full powers; anything irreversible requires a human click; and everything they do is logged where the student and parent can read it. A teenager who internalises those four rails has learned something most adults deploying agents have not.

Does my teen need to know coding before starting agents?

A first course helps enormously and we recommend it: agents are a second-rung topic, and a student who has already built and debugged ordinary projects gets triple the value from agent building. A motivated beginner can still start here one to one, because the teacher can shape the on-ramp, but if you are choosing an order, vibe coding or Python first, agents second is the order we would choose for our own children.

Do agent tools need paid subscriptions?

Some do, and this is stated on each course page before enrolment rather than surfacing later. The teen agents courses are designed to run on access arranged as part of the course setup conversation, with parents involved, inside each platform's terms. Where a specific professional tool subscription is genuinely required, the course page for that specific course says so in plain text, with the current cost.

Will building agents help my teenager's future applications and career?

Agent skills are young enough that a teenager with real, demonstrable agent projects is unusual in any applicant pool, and the underlying abilities, decomposing a goal into steps, granting minimal permissions, designing approval flows, are the same ones the industry is currently hiring adults to learn on the job. We make no placement promises to anyone; we do note that this is the rare topic where a 16 year old can be genuinely early.

What does the teen agents track cost?
