Count the ways it could have come out before deciding the result is surprising

A pattern is only informative in proportion to how unlikely it was, and people are very bad at estimating that, because what registers is how tidy the answer looks rather than how large the space of possible answers was. An AI will confirm that richer districts have pricier homes. Why should a teenager in Feijenoord ask how many districts were checked?
