Program Overview

This is a live online course for pupils in Germany in Klasse 5 to 10 who have Informatik at school, or will soon, and want a patient teacher beside them. It covers what school Informatik covers: algorithms first in Scratch and then in Python, information and data, how computers and networks work, and how informatics changes everyday life, including AI. Classes are live and taught in English only. The mentor matches the pupil's pace and accent: speaks clearly, slows down, rephrases and checks understanding, so a pupil whose first language is German gets Informatik help and steady spoken English practice in the same hour. We never teach in German, but our materials put the German school term beside the English one (Algorithmus and algorithm, Struktogramm and structure chart, EVA-Prinzip and input, process, output) so pupils can link class to their school notes.

Informatik looks very different from one Land to the next. The Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) Informatik-Monitor 2026/27 reports that NRW teaches "das Pflichtfach Informatik in den Jahrgangsstufen 5 und 6" at all general school types, Niedersachsen has had compulsory Informatik in Klasse 9 and 10 since 2024/25, Hamburg has required four weekly hours since 2025/26 (spread over Klasse 7 to 10), Sachsen teaches it one hour a week in Klasse 7 to 10, and Baden-Württemberg introduced the compulsory subject Informatik und Medienbildung from 2025/26, starting in Klasse 5 and 6. The same monitor names six Länder with no Informatik that is compulsory for everyone: Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Sachsen-Anhalt. Bremen plans a compulsory subject from 2027/28 and Rheinland-Pfalz from 2028/29.

So the course is built on the common ground: the five content areas of the GI's recommended education standards for Sekundarstufe I (Information und Daten, Algorithmen, Sprachen und Automaten, Informatiksysteme, and Informatik, Mensch und Gesellschaft). In the first class we ask which Land, school type and Klasse the pupil is in and what the class is doing now, and the mentor weights the course toward that. Every exercise is our own. We are an independent online school with teachers in India; we are not a German school, we are not linked to any Land ministry or to the GI, and we do not issue German grades or qualifications.

What Makes This Program Different

  • ✓ Live classes in English only, with a mentor who matches the pupil's pace and accent: clear speech, slower explanations, rephrasing and frequent checks
  • ✓ Subject help and English practice in the same hour: pupils explain their own programs out loud in English every class
  • ✓ Organised around the five content areas of the GI recommended standards for Sekundarstufe I, the common ground under every Land's Informatik
  • ✓ Weighted to the pupil's own Land and Klasse after the first class, because Informatik differs so much between NRW, Bayern, Sachsen, Hamburg and the rest
  • ✓ Scratch first for younger pupils, then a careful move to Python, so nobody meets text code before the ideas make sense
  • ✓ German school terms printed beside the English ones in our notes, so class links straight back to the school exercise book

The course runs 6 months (24 weeks), joinable any month, batches by Klasse at 2 live classes/week in English + a short task after each class, across 3 phases listed week by week in the syllabus below.
Who teaches it?
Modern Age Coders mentors, who teach the live classes themselves. You can watch them at work in the free class recordings before you decide.
How do practice, feedback and assessment work?
Classwork in every session and homework after every class.
What does it cost?
Three monthly plans: a group batch, a mini batch and 1-on-1. Prices are shown in your currency in the plans section. Monthly billing, cancel any time.
When can classes take place?
Live classes are scheduled around your week. Group batches meet at a fixed weekly slot; 1-on-1 students choose their own. International students are scheduled in their own timezone. Ask on WhatsApp for the current slots.
Can I watch the teaching before deciding?
Yes. Full recordings of real 13 and up classes are free to watch, free with a Google sign-in. These recordings show how we teach, not the exact syllabus of this course. Some classes are in English and some in Hindi; everyone follows at their own pace. Watch a class end to end, like you are in it. Sessions are interactive and each moment builds on the last.
Can I enroll without a live demo?
Yes. Choose a plan on this page and enrol directly; a demo is not required. If you would like to see a full class with a mentor first, book a Priority Demo.
How do I reach you with a question?
WhatsApp +91 91233 66161, email connect@modernagecoders.com, or call +91 91233 66161. Tell us the student's age and what they have learned so far, and we will point you to the right plan and batch.
