Helmond was a centre of textile production for centuries, and two of its firms, Vlisco and Raymakers, are still active. The old metal industry is represented by Nedschroef. Put these rows into a table with a single column for the charter year and the fourth row becomes 1232, looking exactly like the third. Now ask the table an innocent question: which neighbouring towns received their rights in the same year? It will answer Helmond and Eindhoven, and the answer will be completely worthless, because the only reason the two years match is that one was copied from the other. Real datasets have holes, and filling them is often the right thing to do: a model cannot train on a blank, and a chart with gaps can mislead in its own way. The standard tools make it easy.
