Almost every number an organisation watches is a stand-in for something it cannot measure directly. Feed a model the two attendance figures and ask what happened, and the answer will be fluent, plausible and about declining interest in second-hand books. Nothing forces it to reach for the sentence that says vanwege de regen, and a summary that keeps the numbers while dropping the clause is exactly the kind of output that reads well and misleads completely. The failure is not that the tool cannot see the reason. It is that the question invited an explanation and an explanation is what it produced.
So the learner practises the other order: before explaining a move, find out what else could have made it.
