Premium teaching, delivered live to your home

Every Modern Age Coders class near Shyambazar is taught live by a full-time engineer or maths graduate in a small batch — there are no pre-recorded lectures, no rotating part-time freelancers, and no oversized classrooms. This is premium, high-quality coding and maths education delivered online, so a child in a Bagbazar joint-family home gets the same calibre of teaching a top metro school offers, without leaving the para.

Genuinely live, never recorded

Classes happen in real time over video — your child asks a question and gets an answer in the same second, not a comment left under a playback. Tutors watch each student type, catch mistakes as they happen, and adjust the pace live. A recorded course can never do this.

Small live batches

We cap group batches at 6–8 students, run mini batches of 3–4, and offer true 1-on-1. In a North Kolkata tuition room of thirty children, a quiet student disappears; in our batches the tutor knows exactly where every learner is stuck and who needs stretching.

Taught by full-time engineers & maths graduates

Your child is taught by professionals who write code and solve maths for a living, employed full-time to teach — not by a senior student moonlighting after college. They bring real industry and exam insight to Python, Java, AI/ML and mathematics alike.

Project-based from day one

Students don't just watch syntax; they build. A bill maker, a Pujo visitor counter, a Bengali spelling drill — every module ends in something real the student can show a parent or add to a portfolio, which is how concepts actually stick.

Coding and maths under one roof

We are the only platform in Kolkata pairing structured coding with serious mathematics — from Grade 1 arithmetic to Olympiad (AMC, IOQM, RMO, IMO). For a Shyambazar family raised on academic discipline, both halves of the logical brain are trained together.

Zero commute, full attention

No crawling through the Shyambazar 5-point gridlock or changing autos at Hatibagan and Sovabazar — that recovered 90 minutes per class day goes back into study and rest. The class comes home, on time, every time.

Featured tracks

Three paths Shyambazar students start with

Most in-demand

Python & AI for Kids and Teens

Python is the language schools, colleges and the AI industry have settled on, and it is the gentlest serious language for a first-timer. Our Python Programming track takes a Hatibagan-area student from their first print statement to working AI fundamentals, project by project, covering the ground CBSE Informatics Practices expects along the way.

You'll learn: variables, loops, functions, data handling and AI basics. You'll build: games, automation scripts and a small AI-powered tool.

ICSE essential

Java & BlueJ for ICSE/ISC

For students at Scottish Church Collegiate, WWA Cossipore and other ICSE/ISC schools, Java in BlueJ is not optional — it is the board syllabus. Our Java Programming and dedicated Java for ICSE Students tracks teach every theory point and practical that appears in the Class 10 paper, with full viva preparation.

You'll learn: syntax, classes, inheritance, polymorphism and OOP design. You'll build: every board-style program plus a submission-ready project file.

The next chapter

AI & Machine Learning

AI & Machine Learning is reshaping every industry, and Shyambazar's academically ambitious students should not learn it late. Our AI & Machine Learning track for teens and the deeper AI/ML Course for College Students teach real models with Python, not buzzwords — the natural next chapter in this neighbourhood's long intellectual tradition.

You'll learn: data handling, core ML algorithms and how models actually train. You'll build: a working machine-learning project for your portfolio.

Schools we serve

Board-aware teaching for North Kolkata schools

Modern Age Coders teaches students from across Shyambazar's schools — including Hare School and Hindu School (two of Asia's oldest, founded in 1818 and 1817), Scottish Church Collegiate School and St. Paul's Cathedral Mission School on the ISC side, WWA Cossipore English School on ICSE, and Khalsa English High School, Kendriya Vidyalaya Cossipore and Apeejay School on CBSE. We also serve students from Bethune Collegiate School and Manmatha Nath Ghosh Memorial School. Whether a child studies in Bengali, Hindi or English medium, classes are taught to match.

Because the area mixes WBBSE, ICSE/ISC and CBSE, our teaching is board-aware rather than one-size-fits-all. ICSE/ISC students get Java in BlueJ exactly as the board expects; CBSE students get Python and Informatics Practices aligned to their syllabus; and Class 11–12 students preparing for boards can take our complete ICSE/CBSE Computer Science course covering theory, practicals, projects and exam prep. Maths students are taught to their own board's pattern from Grade 1 through college.

The neighbourhood

Shyambazar — learning meets this century's tools

Shyambazar is the cultural spine of North Kolkata — a dense weave of narrow lanes, joint-family houses and rolling shutters running off the famous five-point crossing with Netaji on his horse at the centre. This is old Calcutta in its truest form: Kumartuli's idol-makers a few lanes over, Hatibagan's markets and theatres, the Sovabazar Rajbari, and Bagbazar's ghats where the Bengal Renaissance once breathed. Education here is treated as almost sacred, carried down through generations of bhadralok families.

And yet, for all that academic devotion, serious computer science quietly skipped the para. The offline tuition rooms tucked along Bidhan Sarani and around Hatibagan mastered physics, chemistry and maths, but rarely added real coding — so for years the only way to learn Python or Java properly meant a long, traffic-choked journey south. Families were late to coding not from disinterest but because nobody local was teaching it well.

That is the gap live online classes close. A child in a Sovabazar flat or off RG Kar Road now learns Python, Java and AI from a full-time engineer in a batch of six — without changing autos at the crossing or losing an evening to the journey. It is, in a sense, the next chapter of a neighbourhood that gave Bengal two of Asia's oldest schools: the same reverence for learning, finally meeting the tools of this century.

PROJECT 01

Sovabazar Rajbari Pujo Visitor Counter

A Class 8 student built a simple Python web tool to log and chart daily footfall at her para's Durga Pujo pandal, helping the committee plan crowd flow during Ashtami.

PROJECT 02

Bidhan Sarani Tram Route Helper

A Class 9 boy made an interactive web page mapping the surviving North Kolkata tram stops between Shyambazar and Bidhan Sarani, so elderly neighbours could check timings.

PROJECT 03

Hatibagan Saree Shop Bill Maker

A Class 10 student wrote a Python billing script for her uncle's small Hatibagan saree shop, auto-calculating GST and printing a clean receipt to replace handwritten slips.

"My son now codes from his own desk in the evening instead of sitting in 5-point traffic — and he actually looks forward to the class." — Parent, off Bidhan Sarani

Online vs offline

An honest comparison for Shyambazar families

Where live online wins

  • No commute through Shyambazar 5-point gridlock — roughly 90 minutes saved on every class day.
  • Small live batches of 3–8, versus thirty children in a packed Hatibagan tuition room.
  • Taught by full-time engineers and maths graduates, not whoever the local centre could hire.
  • Real coding and AI/ML that offline North Kolkata tuition rooms simply never offered.
  • One-to-one attention is genuinely affordable at ₹4,999/month, not a luxury add-on.
  • Parents can sit in, see exactly what is taught, and there is nothing recorded to hide behind.
  • Coding and serious maths from a single platform, instead of two separate tuition trips.

When offline still wins

  • A child who needs a teacher physically beside them and cannot stay focused on a screen yet.
  • Homes with no reliable internet or no quiet corner at all during class time.
  • Very young learners who benefit from hands-on physical play over keyboard work.
  • Families who specifically want a neighbourhood social classroom, not a home setup.

For most Shyambazar families, live online delivers better teaching, smaller batches and zero commute — but we'll always tell you honestly if offline suits your child better.
