How long this course takes
This course runs 6-8 months (26-32 weeks) at 2 live classes/week + 2-3 hours practice. The range allows for background and pace: a complete beginner uses the full span, and a student with prior knowledge finishes sooner. The syllabus below is planned to the shorter end, with margin kept for revision.

Program Overview
Everyone needs design now, for school, clubs, small businesses and every feed, and Canva made the tools accessible; what most people lack is the craft. This live online course for ages 13 and up teaches real design: hierarchy, spacing, color and typography as principles, practiced through hundreds of Canva builds, posters, presentations, social graphics, carousels and short videos, until taste becomes reflex.
The AI layer is taught honestly and age-legally: Canva’s own Magic Studio and Adobe Firefly, tools that genuinely permit teens, used to accelerate ideation, generate imagery ethically and automate the boring parts, with clear credit habits and a plain explanation of why some famous art generators remain 18+. The course ends with a portfolio capstone and a final exam that decides the certificate.
The pace is honest: six months at two live classes a week plus two to three hours of practice, with two more months in hand when needed. Homework after every class, monthly mixed challenges, and a final exam, portfolio review plus a live design task, with a free retest after revision. Real craft, real portfolio, depth over dopamine.
