## GCSE Maths Resit Course Online: Post-16 and Adults

*Not the whole GCSE again from page one: a diagnostic finds the marks you are losing, we repair those topics, then we practise full papers until the exam feels familiar.*

A resit is a different job from a first attempt. You have already seen most of the content, and the marks you missed usually cluster in a handful of topics and a few habits: rushing, not showing working, misreading what a question asks. This course starts with a diagnostic paper, maps exactly where the marks went, and spends the teaching time there.

GCSE Maths is a linear qualification. AQA's specification, for example, has three papers of 1 hour 30 minutes and 80 marks each, the first without a calculator, and two tiers: Foundation, graded 1 to 5, and Higher, graded 4 to 9. All three papers are taken at the same tier in the same series. AQA offers November entries only to students who were at least 16 on the previous 31 August, which is why the November series is the resit series.

For 16 to 18 year olds on a study programme, the government's condition of funding guidance sets out who must keep studying maths: students without a grade 4 continue, and full-time students with a grade 3 must study towards GCSE. We work alongside your college, or with you directly as an adult entering through an exam centre. Classes are live and small, and every paper you sit with us is marked against the published mark scheme so you can see the trend, not just hope for it.

**What Makes This Different:**

- Starts with a diagnostic paper and a topic-by-topic map of lost marks, so the teaching time goes where the marks are
- Built around the boards' own specifications: AQA 8300, Edexcel 1MA1 and OCR J560, all three papers at your tier
- Non-calculator paper habits rebuilt from the first fortnight
- A November plan for learners close to the grade they need and a summer plan for those who need more time
- Evening and weekend classes for adults and learners at college during the day
- Every practice paper marked against the published mark scheme, with an error clinic afterwards

### Learning Path

**Phase 1:** Diagnostic and number: a full diagnostic paper, the lost-marks map, then number, fractions, percentages and the non-calculator paper

**Phase 2:** Algebra and ratio: expressions, equations, graphs, ratio, proportion and rates of change

**Phase 3:** Geometry, probability and statistics: angles, area and volume, Pythagoras and trigonometry, probability and data

**Phase 4:** Papers: full sets of three papers at your tier under real timing, marked, reviewed and repaired

## Faqs

**Question:** When can I resit GCSE Maths?

**Answer:** There are November and summer series. AQA, for example, offers GCSE Mathematics every May/June and November, and November entries are only available to students who were at least 16 on the previous 31 August. Check your board and exam centre for the exact dates.

**Question:** Do I have to resit GCSE Maths if I got a grade 3?

**Answer:** If you are 16 to 18 on a full-time study programme in England, the government's condition of funding guidance says students with a grade 3 must study towards GCSE Maths. Students with grade 2 or below can work towards Functional Skills Level 2 or a GCSE. Adults are not bound by these rules and can choose.

**Question:** Should I sit the November resit or wait for the summer?

**Answer:** November suits learners who were close to the grade they need and can study steadily through the autumn. The government's guidance asks colleges to consider readiness, including attendance, engagement and progress, before entering students with a low grade 3 or below. Our diagnostic paper helps you and your college decide.

**Question:** Foundation or Higher tier for a resit?

**Answer:** Foundation is graded 1 to 5 and Higher 4 to 9. Many resit learners aiming for a 4 or 5 sit Foundation, and learners aiming higher sit Higher. Your diagnostic score and the grade you need decide it, together with your college or exam centre.

**Question:** Can adults resit GCSE Maths online?

**Answer:** The teaching can be fully online. The exams are sat in person at an exam centre that accepts private candidates, which makes your entry. We teach to your board and tier and practise its paper style.

**Question:** Which exam boards do you cover?

**Answer:** AQA 8300, Edexcel 1MA1 and OCR J560. All three have Foundation and Higher tiers and three papers, one of them without a calculator.

**Question:** Is the whole GCSE taught again?

**Answer:** No. The diagnostic paper shows which topics are costing marks, and the course spends most of its time there, with full papers throughout. Topics you already handle well get a quick check rather than a re-teach.

**Question:** Can I do Functional Skills instead of a GCSE resit?

**Answer:** Sometimes. Some employers and courses accept Functional Skills Maths Level 2 and some ask for GCSE. For 16 to 18 year olds, the condition of funding rules link the choice to your GCSE grade. We run both courses, and the free demo can help you decide.

**Question:** How are the classes run?

**Answer:** Live online classes with a real teacher, in a group of 15 to 20 learners at a similar level or one to one, with evening and weekend options. Current fees for your region are shown in the pricing section of this page.

**Question:** Can I try a lesson first?

**Answer:** Yes. Book a free demo class. The teacher works through a few GCSE questions with you, sees where the marks are going, and suggests a November or summer plan and group or one-to-one teaching. There is no obligation to enrol.

**Question:** Can I watch how you teach before enrolling in this course?

**Answer:** Yes. Full recordings of real, unedited classes for ages 13 and up are free to watch: Free to watch. No payment, no card, just a quick Google sign-in. These recordings show how we teach, not the exact syllabus of this course. Some classes are in English and some in Hindi; everyone follows at their own pace. Watch a class end to end, like you are in it. Sessions are interactive and each moment builds on the last.

**Question:** Can I enroll without a live demo?

**Answer:** Yes. Choose a plan on this page and enrol directly. A demo is optional: if you would like to see a full class with a mentor first, book a Priority Demo, a live class of about 45 to 60 minutes. Questions: WhatsApp +91 91233 66161 or email connect@modernagecoders.com.
